Lush haullllll! I finished off my pot of Herbalism earlier this week, and that made for 5 black pots to return. I had a hard time deciding which fresh face mask to get, so hopefully Catasrophe Cosmetic works out. I’ve been trying to go easy on the wallet/deplete the stash so I only got a couple bath treats, the two bombs being the last two I haven’t tried that I want to try (except for maybe butterball, always forget about that one). They also had small chucks of soap cut up for once instead of big ones, so I decided to get a little piece since I’m actually starting to get low (didn’t have to buy soap at all last year). I had no idea that they are changing some of the formulas to “self preserving,” so the saleslady made sure to give me a sample (she noticed that most of the pots I brought back were Mask of Magnaminty). This concludes the post where every sentence includes parenthesis!

"It has certainly taken on a life of its own, and continues to transcend generations and hold a solid spot in pop culture year after year."

August empties! Even though I cancelled Birchbox in March, I’m still working my way through samples.

I repurchased the anti-bumps shave gel, and plan to repurchase the FCS Rise&Grind sugar scrub with the coupon code from the fall box. I also purchased a full size Beauty Protector spray a while ago, but I’ve been using this little bottle for travel.

Unfortunately that Eyeko liquid eyeliner pen should not be dead already, but alas, it is. As you can see in my last post, I bought a Milani pen to try out instead.

So for a minute there I considered Eyeko to be my HG liquid eyeliner pen, but when I repurchased it, I seem to have gotten a dud. I didn’t want to take the risk again, so my quest continues. I went to Meijer intending to by a NYX pen, but I saw Milani was on sale by one get one 50% off, so I got their version of the ergonomic handled pen (which is several dollars cheaper to begin with). I’m going to need a new black pencil soon anyway, so either way it’ll be a win!

Whoooo Sephora haul! I’m in a wedding this weekend, and I get to do my own hair and makeup so I wanted to get some big girl foundation (usually I just wear bb cream). I went in and did the color IQ/ID(?) thing, and only 4 products in the whole store came up, so my options were very limited.
Fortunately, MUFE Face and Body in Porcelain 2 was a perfect match. I got some Smashbox Primer (the light version) to go with it, and used a 100 point perk to get a deluxe sample of MUFE HD setting powder. I tried everything out last night and I was very pleased with how my skin looked. Unfortunately it was dark, so no pictures yet!

Are you able to hide the nape shave underneath a low bun? I am curious because I want to do something similar but need to wear a bun over it for work.

Hm, that might be a challenge. I wasn’t able to hide mine very well when my hair was up, but my hair was also on the shorter side, and my shave went pretty far up and to the sides. If you shave less surface area (like the triangle type nape shaves I imagine it would be easier to hide with a bun.

Yay Fortune Cookie Soap Box Day! Boo awkward conversation with my mailman while I’m wearing nothing but a bathrobe. But anyway.
I don’t care much for the theme, I sort of hate The Wizard of Oz, and I’ve never seen Wicked, but I do love me some fall scents.
Miss Popular Bubble Bath Powder - “honey nectar, anise, jasmine, orange, violet.” It’s too flowery/perfumey for me.
There’s No Place Like Home Fortune Cookie Soap - CINNAMON. For starters, it’s super cute, all glittery and what not. I don’t know that I would purchase this scent, but it’s not bad.
The Shiz Perfume Oil - Smells like spicy leaves, I dig it.
Hair Flip Hair Oil - I love hair oils so I’m excited about this one. Also it smells like buttercream frosting. Win!
Roy G. Biv OCD Hand Sanitizer - The description says citrus/floral again a fall background, but I just smell hand sanitizer with this one.
Flying Monkeys Personal Space Air Freshener - Fruity fruity fruit fruit. I like fruit.
Swankified Walnut Facial Scrub - So walnut shells? Not the best thing to rub on your face. That will tear your shit up. I will probably use this as a general body scrub. It does smell good though, sort of like banana bread.
Green is the New Black Whipped Cream - PUMPKIN PIE
So there are 4 different whipped cream scents, and all are pumpkin laced with other things, and I want to inhale all of them. Favorite scents/possible purchases would be those, followed by Flying Monkeys and The Shiz.

Crappy picture, but I looked cute yesterday, and you can kinda see my scabby new tattoo. I think I should make my eyebrows bolder, but I’m scared.

Golden Egg Bath Bomb - Easter 2014

After my rather negative experience with Star Light Star Bright, I was nervous about trying another product covered in glitter, but Honey I Washed the Kids is one of my favorite scents so I gave it a go. This is a hybrid bath bomb and bath melt, with the outer layer being the melt and the inside being the bomb. I think cutting this in half would have been sufficient for one bath, but using the whole thing I ended up with one super luxurious and moisturizing bath! The scent was pretty strong and lingered, which I liked, and the glitter wasn’t gritty and nasty like Star Light Star Bright but much more fine and manageable like a Dragon’s Egg bath bomb. This is a slow fizzer, and turned the water yellow with golden glitter swirls. It did require some clean up after, but I would purchase again.

Celestial Moisturizer - $24.95

I got a sample of this “sensitive skin” moisturizer, but I didn’t really care for it. It has an odd, rather plastic-y sort of smell, and as a moisturizer while it didn’t upset my skin, it didn’t compare to my current Embryolisse moisturizer. It also contains parabens, and I’m not sure how I feel about that. Would not purchase.

Dirty Soap - $7.95/3.5 oz.

I got a small sliver of this soap as a sample. I’d smelled it in store but didn’t have strong feelings for it one way or the other. It’s a rather manly scent, sort of herbal and minty. As far as soap it’s just soap, I didn’t notice anything spectacular or negative. I liked it, but overall may or may not purchase.

Ahhhhh I am so pleased! I used AGEbeautful anti-aging haircolor in Plum Black. I was shooting for an undercover-purple that I can get away with at school, and I was super nervous as I was dyeing my hair because the dye went on magenta and rinsed out magenta, but it turned out perfectly!
