Hairapy

Been a minute since I did any DIY-ing! My sister requested that I make some soaps and lotion bars to put in the gift baskets for my niece’s bridesmaids, so I did that this last week. The soap is a shea butter base with lavender essential oil and lavender buds in it. The lotion bars contain beeswax, coconut oil, jojoba oil, and avocado oil (which gives them the slightly yellow/green color).

Woo my haul from Ulta came today! I was planning on spending around $50 on the Smashbox Santigold collection, but instead I went with some possible dupes and things I need for the same price.

Today’s little haul. They didn’t have the full Easter lineup in stock so I ended up ordering a few more things online. Plus the Smashbox Santigold collection finally dropped so I have an Ulta haul coming too. After a few months of behaving myself, I deserve a treat, right?

A rather boring month for empties, but I am slowly but surely making my way through my stash of samples and spare products. Both of the pictured lippies went through the washer and became gross (whoops), and the Serge Normant dry conditioner is absolutely amazing. Unfortunately, it’s also $25 a can, which I can’t quite see myself paying. I think I’m going to mess around with some oils and see if I can’t replicate the results the spray gives me. The sample of Agave oil came close, but not quite.

Got a hair cut today, she ended up taking a lot off! She also tried to convince me to dye it brown, because she doesn’t think the red will lift well enough to go back to blonde. She’s probably right, but going dark scares me!

LUSH Reviews

Better late than never?

Love Locket Bath Bomb

From the limited edition Valentine’s ‘14 line. This huge bomb is a good value, as it’s good for 3 baths. The scent is a tad perfumey for my tastes but it lingers nicely and it’s a fun bomb that turns the water pink, and has little surprises inside that differ depending on which piece you use (there’s a smaller, heart shaped bomb inside). I probably wouldn’t purchase again.

Shoot for the Stars Bath Bomb

Holy moly this baby (from Christmas ‘13) is glorious. It’s Honey I Washed the Kids Scented, which is a definite favorite for me. Unfortunately once the bomb dissolved the scent was barely there. However, that’s the only negative for this bomb. This slow fizzer puts on a seriously stunning show. This bomb leaves you with dark indigo water with lots of silver sparkles, and a layer of super soft whitish-pink foam on top. The way the center of the bomb fizzes out faster than the inside creates beautiful swirls of foam and glitter. I also found this bomb to be pretty moisturizing. I will definitely buy it again if it show up next year!

Lovely Jubblies Breast Cream - $25.95/3.5 oz.

I don’t know if it’s just the extra harsh winter or what, but my skin has been extra sensitive lately. Eucerin saved my elbows, but wasn’t quite doing it for my dry, itchy boobies. I’ve been wanting to sample Lovely Jubblies for a while, so I finally decided now was the time. It has seriously saved my tatas. It’s intended as more of a firming cream, and since my bust is on the smaller side I haven’t noticed a whole lot of that happening, but I do have some minor stretch marks that appear to be fading. Lovely Jubblies also smells nice, and it feels like a fancy treat to use it. I’m not sure I would shell out for a full pot of it, but if my skin’s sensitivity keeps up as the weather warms up I will.

Ahhh so one of my best friends just dyed her hair a super dark purple and I don’t want to be a copycat but it looks STUNNING and I want to be a copy cat.

In other news, I’m not feeling the red and now that RHPS is over I can change it. Ideas, followers?

For writing a post the other day saying I’m trying to cut back on hauls this year I’ve sure had a lot this week…here’s what I got with the coupon code from my spring Fortune Cookie Soap Box. I’m sooooo glad that FCS brought back the coffee scrub that came out with their Once Upon A Time collection. Now that it’s a part of the permanent collection it’s officially HG status for me. Also the Beach Bum sample smells awesome and fruity!
